Frequently asked questions
Coaching & counselling is about giving you the time to explore the events, situations, relationships, behaviours, thoughts and emotions that you may be finding difficult or would like to change. So the structure of the sessions will depend on you and what you find important to explore. Of course we will also keep in mind your original goals and wishes and try to make progress in achieving them.
Keep in mind: First Session will always constitute of an Online Intake Session where we can discuss your situation and make an agreement together about how to proceed forward, like how many sessions you need and how often.
You can read more about the structure of the sessions under the Services & Prices page.
This is subjective, but it’s crucial that you feel like you’re progressing and growing throughout the process.
Our work together is a partnership: I will be your guide & support, but you will have to take responsibility for your own learning.
You can ask yourself:
Do you feel comfortable talking about your feelings?
Are you making some positive movements towards achieving your goals?
We will also regularly review the progress you're making, giving you the opportunity to get the most out of our time together. I will frequently ask you for your feedbacks and at the end of our agreement, I would appreciate if you would give me an honest evaluation of my services.
It is difficult to predict how long the coaching & counselling process will take, it depends on what issue you have or how many goals you would like to achieve.
Often, people believe they’re coming to work on one specific issue/goal but the real issue is actually something different. So it also depends on what insights we might uncover or what emotions you experiece during a session.
Keep in mind that unforeseen difficulties or new challenges may also arise in between counselling session that could extend the process.
Coaching & counselling can be short-term or long-term, lasting from a few weeks to many months, or even longer, therefore you can have as often as many sessions as you like or need.
Some people hire a coach/counsellor once every few months, some people have a session once a week or every second week.
Ultimately, you make the choice about how often we meet, how long you continue and when you want to stop.
Not possible at this time.
In the case of a power cut or internet issue that is of my responsibility, then we will try an alternative like telephone. If that fails, we will reschedule the appointment at no extra cost.
However if you will have continiuous connection issues which lead to the cancellation of the session, then I reserve the right to charge for the appointment.
I provide my services in 2 languages: English and Hungarian.
The PrioriTree Coaching & Counselling practice is my only source of income, but I believe that everyone deserves access to quality care and support.
If you have a concern regarding fees due to an unforeseen financial hardship, please get in contact and we can discuss the details together.
Different mental health professionals have specific skills and strengths in helping with different issues.
Working within my own competence is key, and thus there might be times when I can not help a client so I will offer to make a referral.
Examples for when a referral is necessary:
Issue is outside my competency and experience level - referral to a specialist or another coach/counsellor
Issue significantly interferes with daily functioning of the client, for ex. severe mental health problems or addiction - referral to doctor or psychotherapy
Issue is a barrier to making progress in coaching - referral to another coach/counsellor
Types of referrals:
Psychotherapy (cognitive behavioural therapists, EMDR specialist)
Couples Therapy or Divorce counselling
Crisis Referrals (police, social services)
Group Therapy (substance abuse like Alcoholics Anonymous, PTSD)
Specialists (art therapy, career coaching, financial counseling)
Support Groups (sexual abuse survivors, bereavement, parenting classes or caregiver groups)
Psychological Testing & Assessment (for ex. to get diagnosis for mental illness or developmental disorders: general practicioner, primary care doctor or psychiatrist)
Sessions can be cancelled or rescheduled by clients free of charge at least 48 hours before the scheduled session.
When a service bundle package agreement has been made and sessions have been paid for in advance, sessions may be rescheduled or cancelled 12 hours before the start of the session without extra costs.
